ARE Oy is Finland’s leading technical building services company which has also expanded into Sweden. Real Estate Business managers and invests in properties in Finland. The Investment Business manages and invests the company’s assets.

Family Entrepreneurship for over 110 years

Conficap has its roots in Finnish entrepreneurship. In 1913, businessman Alfred Onninen started a plumbing contracting business in Turku. Over the years, the business expanded from contracting into wholesale trade, and the company Onninen Oy was born. In 1992 the company acquired ARE Oy. founded in 1924.

In 1997, the owner family descended from Alfred Onninen established Onvest Oy to be the holding company for the business it owned. Onvest Oy sold Onninen to Kesko in 2016 and in 2018 Conficap Oy, owned by Maarit Toivanen and her children, was launched.

Conficap’s operations are guided by entrepreneurship, sustainability, and long-term goals, with the aim of developing the company for the owners of future generations.
